wow this week. i literally have no
ways to really explain. SO I am just going to share what have learned this
week.
That not everyone is ready to hear
the Gospel.
That people literally think that
money is what will make them happy.
Not going to church because you were
offended by someone, dumbest thing I have ever heard of.
Gaining your own personal testimony
is CRITICAL.
And being an example ESPECIALLY as a
parent is very important.. that's an understatement, it is the most needed thing
in a home. besides the Gospel of course.
Wow I have explanations for all of
those things but realistically it would take to long to type out. Just know that
those things are happening on my mission. Whether it be from contacting on the
street, to investigators, to less actives, to my branch presidents wife.. or to
just families in general. They all prove to me that the Gospel is the most
needed thing in this life, but yet it is the most unimportant uncommon thing in
this life. I was studying the talk by the prophet Thomas S. Monson "I will not
fail thee, nor forsake thee." This part stuck out to me.
"We should not need to
experience difficulties for us to remember Him, and we should not be driven to
humility before giving Him our faith and trust."
I have come to realize how
much truth comes from this one line. I am almost drawn to tears to think that
before my mission I only prayed or really talked to Heavenly Father when I
"needed" Him most.
I have come to learn that
whether we are in times of trial, times of need, times of overwhelming joy, or
times of just simple living, we NEED our Heavenly Father. How sad I
feel for Him to think that all of His children down here don't pray and
talk to him daily.. That is something that has just really affected me. SAY MEANINGFUL PRAYERS BECAUSE OUR HEAVENLY FATHER IS WAITING TO HEAR FROM
YOU.
So did this other
part!
Our Heavenly Father, who gives us
so much to delight in, also knows that we learn and grow and become stronger as
we face and survive the trials through which we must pass. We know that there
are times when we will experience heartbreaking sorrow, when we will grieve,
and when we may be tested to our limits. However, such difficulties allow us to
change for the better, to rebuild our lives in the way our Heavenly Father
teaches us, and to become something different from what we were—better than
what we were, more understanding than what we were, more empathetic than what
we were, with stronger testimonies than we had before.
This should be our purpose—to
persevere and endure, yes, but also to become more spiritually refined as we
make our way through sunshine and sorrow.
Change. Change is good. Change is
scary. Everything about changing is uncomfortable. Everything about this
mission is uncomfortable BUT yet i find this sense of calmness and a sense of
assurance that all the changes that go on, whether they be life at home with the
family and friends, or my self in general, that all is okay. That GOD has it
under control and we are truly doing the Will Of God. Let the hard times be
times of learning, and let the good times be reasons to thank our Heavenly
Father for what He has given us.
Hey i love you all. thanks for all
that you do literally.
